They have carbide cutting wheels that can be replaced when the wheels dull.
They require less pressure and have a comfort grip which helps if you have weak wrists, ensuring your nipping time can be much longer than usual.
Mark your wheels with a Sharpie before use. The Allen wrench provided can be used to rotate your wheels to another position over time to ensure you get the most use from them. This helps you to keep track of dull (pre used) sections of the wheels.
